Absolutely beautiful. Without exaggeration this is one of the most amazing places I’ve ever been. The water was beautiful, the canyon surrounding it is just surreal. Full review by 802ianp

All I have to say is "wow!" This is an experience not to be missed. This spot is a few miles down the road from Sedona. After paying the fee to enter the park, you park in the lot. The walk from … Full review by vacationcruisin

Hey! We are planning a trip in may to slide rock park, fossil creek and a couple other park in the area of Sedona. My one son is in 4th grade and we have a 4th grade pass to get into any national park for free. I'm a little confused on what this covers, entry and parking? or is it just entry? do we still have to buy permits for the park? If anyone has any information it would be helpful. Thank You!
A:
Hello. If you're talking about a pass such as the "America the Beautiful" pass, that is a National Park pass, and will not admit entry into this park; Slide Rock is a State park. Sorry about that.

You're right! It will be very busy!! Arrive early and be patient. Slide Rock opens at 8. They don't accept reservations. Attendance is limited by the size of the parking lot so get there as early as possible. Pack as if you are going to the beach but you do need to walk about .5 mile to get to the water and that includes stairs. There's a picnic area near the parking if you bring lunch. Another fun spot the kids can get in the water is Crescent Moon Picnic Site at Red Rock Crossing. Everything I said about Slide Rock also applies there. Have fun!!
