The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating a reported shooting on Wednesday night. According to the police, around 8:30 p.m., officers were called to the 10900 block of Red Oak Drive. Officials said one man was taken to a local hospital and is in critical condition.

Three former BRPD officers lost their first chance to appeal their cases after the Municipal Fire & Police Civil Service Board held a hearing.

Fired Baton Rouge Police Department officers Troy Lawrence Sr., Todd Thomas and Douglas Chutz lost a request Monday for the civil service board to dismiss cases in their favor, with proceedings now headed to trial-like hearing in February.
