Several miles of coastline spanning from Malibu to Santa Monica have been closed indefinitely due to the risk of toxic materials and pollutants from wildfires that burned in the area in recent months.

The recent rainfall and increased debris from fire zone areas have prompted Los Angeles County public health officials to issue an advisory and close several miles of Los Angeles County's coastline, from Malibu to Playa del Rey.

And over the weekend, rain fell across Southern California, which helped with the ongoing firefighting efforts amidst the lingering embers, but also funneled toxic runoff into the ocean. Accordingly,
