In a 5-2 vote, the Burien City Council has approved an emergency ordinance making it illegal for individuals to reside, sleep, or have personal items such as blankets on any public property at any time.

The city of Burien passed an expansion on its camping ban in a 5–2 vote. With temperatures dropping dangerously low this week, some are questioning why the Burien City Council voted to do it. The city manager says as written,

On Monday, the Burien City Council passed an emergency ordinance that bans camping or residing on public property at all times, "without any prerequisites to enforcement." Ordinance No. 864 was approved with a 5-2 vote and expands on previous restrictions set in place.
