On Friday night, 39-year-old Anthony Egeonu was fatally shot while working security and trying to prevent shoplifting, based on a GoFundMe supporting his family. A day later, two juveniles, age 13 and 15, were taken into custody, police said. Their names will not be released due to their age, police said later.

During a community meeting, the interim police chief revealed it was a 13-year-old shoplifter who pulled out a gun and fatally shot the CVS security guard who tried to stop him from getting away.
