Water seemingly made a comeback in Richmond's faucets overnight Wednesday into Thursday — for real this time. The big picture: Most Richmonders had been without running water for more than two days, while residents in parts of Henrico and Hanover had been without service for around 24 hours as of Wednesday afternoon.

Henrico County issued a boil water advisory Wednesday afternoon, on the third day of a regional water emergency triggered by a power outage at Richmond’s water treatment plant on Monday, Jan. 6 caused by a winter storm.

All of Henrico County is now under a water boil advisory amid an ongoing water crisis in and around Richmond, Virginia.

Despite rumors circulating on social media, Henrico County officials have confirmed to CBS 6 that water service is not being shut off anywhere in the county.

Henrico County Public Schools will be closed on Friday, with some employees to report to work, as a countywide boil water advisory remains in effect.

The county says water is still available for residents at the Eastern Government Center and the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center. Both bottled water and tank trucks are available

Roughly 23,000 Henrico County residents still have no water service. Residents who do have water are under a boil water advisory until further notice.

Henrico County residents impacted by a water outage that began earlier this week can expect to see water flow slowly returning on Thursday.
