Haiti’s famed Oloffson Hotel, a cultural landmark and celebrity haven, was incinerated amid rising violence by gangs that control most of the country’s capital.

Prince, burned the historic Hotel Oloffson to the ground over the weekend amid a clash with police in the neighborhood. The hotel had been a gathering place for generations and a center for art and music.

Jackie Onassis and Mick Jagger once slept there, and writer Graham Greene immortalized it. Now Haitian gangs have destroyed it.
