A southbound section of Interstate 270 on the East Side of Columbus is closed after a fiery crash Monday morning. I-270 southbound past State Route 161 near Blendon Township is closed after a white vehicle appears to have flipped over and caught fire, video from the crash shows.

Interstate 270 South in northeast Columbus was shut down all Monday morning after a fatal crash. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said the crash occurred just after 8:30 a.m. in Blendon Township when a Honda “abruptly” changed lanes and hit a Buick in the driver’s side mirror.

The sheriff’s office said the driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:45 am. Their identity has not been released.
