A Durham man was charged by federal authorities with supporting ISIS and later attempting to join the group, according to court documents that were unsealed on Tuesday.

Alexander Justin White, a Durham resident, was arrested for allegedly supporting IS. The FBI uncovered his plans to join the group abroad after months of undercover communication and online investigations.

A North Carolina man was arrested in December after he was accused of wanting to join ISIS, federal court documents revealed. According to an affidavit, the man – 29-year-old Alexander Justin White – lived in Durham.
