Luis Guevara, a 19-year-old minor league player for the Baltimore Orioles, has died as a result of the injuries suffered during a “vessel incident,” according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission (FWC).

Orioles minor leaguer Luis Guevara, who died Tuesday, suffered traumatic internal and brain injuries after he was struck by an airborne personal watercraft, according to police.

Baltimore Orioles prospect Luis Guevara has died following a June 15 jet ski accident in Florida, the team announced. Guevara, 19, was an infielder with the Orioles' team in the Florida Complex League. The club postponed its games the next two days following the incident.
