Netflix's six-part series Apple Cider Vinegar tells the unbelievable story of wellness influencer and scammer Belle Gibson, who profited off lying about having brain cancer

The is billed as a “true-ish story based on a lie" and is inspired by a 2017 book, “The Woman Who Fooled the World,” by two investigative journalists, Beau Donelly and Nick Toscano, who explored Gibson’s deception.

Chanelle in "Apple Cider Vinegar" is similar to Chanelle McAuliffe, one of Belle Gibson's friends who tipped off reporters that the influencer was suspicious.
