NEW DELHI - Both the black boxes of Air India flight 171, including the flight data recorder (FDR) and cockpit voice recorder (CVR), have been found, P.K. Mishra, principal secretary to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said in an official statement late on Sunday.

Three days after the crash, only 35 bodies had been handed over to relatives from an overall official death toll of 270.

The Boeing 787 Dreamliner crashed shortly after take off on Thursday in what is one of the deadliest plane accidents in terms of the number of British nationals killed. It struck a medical college hostel in a residential part of Ahmedabad, killing 241 of the 242 people on board.
