An attempt to become the third successful private landing on the moon has ended in failure, as ispace's Resilience probe crashed due to a malfunctioning laser sensor

The Resilience lander was carrying a tiny rover, a miniature Swedish cottage, and several science payloads when it crashed onto the lunar surface.

Resilience, ispace's second lunar lander, had problems measuring its distance to the surface and could not slow its descent fast enough.
