Fox News' Jeanine Pirro was a controversial choice to serve as the U.S. attorney in Washington, D.C. Senate Republicans rubber-stamped her nomination anyway.

As the new US attorney for Washington, Pirro will join the ranks of other cable news hires like Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who co-hosted "Fox & Friends Weekend," and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, a former reality TV show competitor and Fox Business co-host.

Before becoming the acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia in May, Jeanine Pirro co-hosted the Fox News show “The Five” on weekday evenings, where she frequently interviewed Trump.
