Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett has decided to allow Pacers Sports & Entertainment to build a $78 million practice facility for the Indiana Fever, despite some residents feeling that the city missed an opportunity for development on the site.
The Indiana Fever will have their own $78 million practice center before the start of the 2027 season, team owners announced in a statement Thursday.
Construction of the three-story, 108,000-square-foot, world-class training complex is expected to begin in August 2025 and open before the 2027 WNBA season. The Indiana Fever Sports Performance Center will be part of the PS&E campus and connected by skybridge to the Virginia Avenue Parking Garage and Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
The Indiana Fever Sports Performance Center has joined the roster of projects announced for the southeast quadrant of the Mile Square, which includes the prospective site of a Major League Soccer stadium.
