After a feverous comeback, Tennessee cut the deficit down to two points at 76-74 with a chance to tie or take the lead with 11.9 seconds remaining. Chaz Lanier had a layup attempt blocked, before missing a game-tying free throw with less than three seconds remaining.

The Vanderbilt Commodores were fined for allowing their fans to storm the court following the game against the Tennessee Volunteers.

It was another example of Tennessee’s inconsistency in moments that counted.
