Rookie Memphis Grizzlies center Zach Edey was not in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Washington Wizards. Edey was replaced in the starting lineup with Brandon Clarke. Edey started the first nine Grizzlies regular season games this season. He also came off the bench in one of the five preseason games.

Edey supplied 12 points (5-7 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 1-2 FT), six rebounds, two assists, one block and four steals over 24 minutes during Sunday's 134-89 win over the Trail Blazers. Edey has scored in double digits off the bench in his last two appearances,

Edey has been a key factor in the Grizzlies' strong start, contributing significantly to their 6-4 record. Edey has been averaging 11.1 points, 6.7 rebounds, 0.6 assists, 0.5 steals, 0.9 blocks, and 1.4 turnovers per game this season.

As a result, Edey will come off the bench for the first time in his rookie season. He is averaging 10.8 points, 6.6 rebounds and 0.8 blocks across 19.1 minutes in nine games this year.
