More than five hours after Gov. Ron DeSantis signed the state's 2025-26 budget, vetoing almost $600 million from the Legislature's $115 billion spending plan, his office released the list of the individual line items axed.

The roughly $115 billion budget was $3.5 billion less than the current year. DeSantis’ action shrinks the plan even further, and tucks more into what had been $12.4 billion in reserves. Much of the delay by lawmakers stemmed from clashes with DeSantis, and between the House and Senate, over spending and tax breaks.
