Democrats' absence has halted work in the Texas House, which must also approve the new boundaries, for more than a week.

On the fourth try, the Texas House failed to make quorum, with 96 lawmakers present. When the House reconvened Tuesday morning, it failed to make a quorum again with 95 lawmakers present. The House will reconvene Friday at 10 a.

In Austin, the Texas House of Representatives is scheduled to meet and the redistricting bill is technically scheduled for a second reading (which would not be a vote to pass it out of the chamber). But this cannot happen without a quorum present;
