The NFL has fined Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair about $11,000 for punching Bears running back Roschon Johnson on the sidelines during Sunday’s Bears-Texans game, according to KPRC’s Aaron Wilson.

HOUSTON – Texans veteran middle linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair was fined roughly $11,000 by the NFL for punching Chicago Bears running back Roschon Johnson. Al-Shaair told KPRC 2 he plans to accept the fine and isn’t going to appeal.

Al-Shaair tumbled onto the Bears’ sideline in the third quarter after delivering a big — and potentially late — hit on rookie quarterback Caleb Williams as he ran out of bounds. The bigger offense occurred, though, when Al-Shaiir stood up in a swarm of worked-up Bears players and immediately threw a punch at Johnson, a bystander in the situation.

After hitting Caleb Williams near the sidelines, Houston Texans linebacker Azeez-Al Shaair punched Bears player and former Longhorns running back Roschon Johnson, who was not even involved in the play.

The officials in Sunday night's game missed what should have been a 15-yard penalty and an ejection when Houston's Azeez Al-Shaair punched Chicago's Roschon Johnson on the sideline.
