Texas Democratic lawmakers expected to confront many uncertainties when they left the state in a last-ditch attempt to block Republicans from pushing through a new congressional map.

A Chicago-area hotel, where many Texas Democrats who left the state in protest were staying, was evacuated for the second time just two days apart due to another bomb threat on Friday.

A second threat was reported Friday at the suburban Chicago hotel and convention center that was housing Texas Democrats in Illinois while battling a redistricting controversy.
