The ashes of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh were immersed in the Yamuna river near the Majnu ka Tila Gurdwara on Sunday by his family members as per the Sikh rituals. Sources here said that Singh’s family members collected the ashes from the Nigambodh Ghat in the morning.

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s ashes were immersed in Yamuna river in the national capital on Sunday. The ashes of Dr Singh, the key architect of India’s economic liberalisation, were immersed by his family members as per Sikh rituals this morning at the Yamuna Ghat near Gurdwara at Majnu Ka Tilla.

New Delhi: The ashes of former prime minister Manmohan Singh were immersed in the Yamuna river near the Majnu ka Tila Gurdwara by members of his family following Sikh rituals. The ashes were collected from the Nigambodh Ghat on Sunday morning by Singh's family members and later taken to the 'Asht Ghat' on the Yamuna river bank near the gurdwara.

The ashes of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh were immersed at the Yamuna Ghat near the Gurdwara Majnu Ka Tila Sahib in Delhi, a day after he was cremated with full state honours at Nigambodh Ghat.

The family of the late Dr Manmohan Singh will perform rituals at the Gurudwara including Shabad Kirtan (musical recitation of the Guru Granth Sahib), Paath (recitation of Gurbani) and Ardas.

The last rites of the former Prime Minister were held with full state honours on Saturday in the presence of several dignitaries, including President Murmu and PM Modi.
