A Brampton man has been arrested and charged with assault with a weapon following a protest outside the Hindu Sabha Mandir on The Gore Road earlier this week.

Security was beefed up outside the Canada High Commission in Chanakyapuri area after many Sikh protesters climbed the barricades and raised slogans against the violence inside a temple in Canada’s Brampton.

Police say they have arrested and charged another person following tense and sometimes violent protests at a Hindu temple in the Greater Toronto Area earlier this week. Violence erupted Sunday at the Hindu Sabha Mandir in Brampton after a visit by Indian officials was met by protesters seeking a separate Sikh nation called Khalistan.
