The GTA 6 release date may have just been revealed, but not by Rockstar Games or its partners, but an online retailer.

South American video game retailer XUruguay was the reason for the leak, with the Montevideo retailer popping GTA 6 on its website for presale. Advertising the game for sale for PlayStation 5, it listed GTA 6 to go on general sale from 17 September, 2025.

However, as has been the case with Rockstar Games recently, a potential release date has just been ‘leaked’. And if it’s true, they really don't seem to have much luck keeping things quiet. The question of whether GTA VI will arrive in 2025 has been a constant source of speculation.

A date has still not been officially announced for GTA 6, with the only update so far being from Take-Two to confirm that an autumn 2025 release is on the cards. Take-Two is expected to give GTA fans an update on the game in just over a week's time, though, with its next earnings report scheduled for 6 February.
