The Supreme Court has rejected a petition from Mark Meadows, the former White House chief of staff during the first Trump administration, to move his 2020 election subversion case to federal court.

The Supreme Court declined Tuesday to let Mark Meadows move his Georgia election subversion case to federal court, effectively barring the former chief of staff during Donald Trump’s first term from claiming immunity from those charges.

The Supreme Court turned down a plea from Mark Meadows, who served as chief of staff to Donald Trump during his first term in office, to transfer his Georgia election interference prosecution to federal court.
