Northwest Naturals announced a voluntary pet food recall after an Oregon house cat died after eating a Northwest Naturals product that later tested positive for bird flu.

The Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA) alerted cat owners to throw out a brand of frozen food after it tested positive for bird flu. One house cat has already died due to the contamination.

An Oregon cat died after eating pet food that has been recalled for a positive avian influenza test. The cat in Washington County ate turkey from Morasch Meats’ Northwest Naturals brand that was sold frozen and uncooked.
