Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk confirmed Squid Game Season 3 will be released this year, sooner than expected. Season 2's nomination for a Golden Globe raised eyebrows due to early access for voters. Dong-hyuk worked on Seasons 2 and 3 simultaneously, teasing that Season 3 will pick up from a Season 2 cliffhanger.
