Studio Trigger returns to Night City with a standalone sequel to 'Cyberpunk: Edgerunners' that promises to hurt as much as the original.

A short teaser trailer for anime follow-up Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 has been released, confirming that protagonist “David is dead but Night City lives on”. Speaking at Anime Expo 2025 this weekend, as reported by Gematsu, writer Bartosz Sztybor said:

CD Projekt and Studio Trigger’s popular anime, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, is officially getting a second season. Announced at the Anime Expo in Los Angeles on Friday, Studio Trigger confirmed Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is in production for Netflix and revealed the official logo for the project.
