Magic Mike XXL is geniunely one of my favorite films ever (I usually get weird looks for saying that). There are few films that give me the euphoria that I get from that film. Just Tatum's physical performance and the final musical setpiece puts it above so many movies.

Feb 10, 2023 · Magic Mike's Last Dance makes Magic Mike look like Magic Mike XXL. I wouldn't call this movie bad by any stretch of the imagination. I'm kind of surprised the critics are so low on it, but it definitely has some major flaws. If you're in it for abs and dance moves and some laughs along the way, I think this is just fine.

Films like Magic Mike (from what I've read from bloggers I trust) are seeking to serve a "female or homoerotic gaze," acting in a way like the BET, or another group-specific channel or network, to try to show another perspective or point of view.

Sep 29, 2015 · While I thought Magic Mike was great, I was very disappointed with how XXL turned out. The script felt like a hodgepodge of random places to connect stripping/dancing scenes together. While the stripping/dancing scenes were admittedly fantastic (if a little long at times), I don't really think it makes up for the shitty script.
