While initially started as an initiative of Chapter 61 Ministries, TAT’s founders quickly discerned the impact the trucking industry could have in the fight against human trafficking, as both the industry and the anti-trafficking movement embraced its theory-of-change.

Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) is a nonprofit organization that trains truck drivers to recognize and report instances of human trafficking. [1] This national organization formed in Oklahoma, United States, [2] in 2009 and teaches truck drivers about the results of human trafficking. [3]

Truck drivers are the eyes and ears of the roadways and frequently find themselves in places where traffickers may exploit victims. This course equips OTR drivers to know the signs to look for and the steps to take to report human trafficking.

All CDL holders are required to have the human trafficking training provided by Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) effective July 1, 2018. This training is a one-time training. Each driver must provide the TAT certified certificate at the time of application or renewal for their CDL.
