This noise is STRIDOR It is a high pitched, harsh noise caused by narrowing of the upper airways around the vocal cords usually heard loudest when they breathe in. 👶 In children, the most common cause is croup — a viral infection that makes the airway inflamed and swollen. They often also have a seal-like 🦭 or barking cough. The first thing to do is assess whether they are struggling to breathe: • look for signs such as recessions, tracheal tug and increased breathing rate (check out my page f
