🎵”Just keep swimming, just keep swimming…”🎵 Over the summer, WDFW set light traps to capture and count larval Dungeness crab, or megalopae. We caught lots of those, but the traps also attracted larvae and juveniles from various other species — including this baby East Pacific red octopus in Tokeland! How presh. 🥰 All animals caught in the trap were returned to the water after being counted. Learn more about our light trap project, done in collaboration with the Pacific Northwest Crab Research
