Today is the March equinox, the first official day of spring! The gardens at Hampton Court Palace display over 500 years of gardening history and creativity. Mary II collected plants from all over the world, and it was her gardener Daniel Marot who created the baroque Fountain Garden. In the 1800s, flowers and shrubberies were planted over the ‘wilderness’, and today there are around a million bulbs planted in the garden in total.
